Common use
Dutas is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) also known as benign prostatic hypertrophy (technically a misnomer) or benign enlargement of the prostate (BEP). It refers to the increase in size of the prostate in men. Dutas decreases urinary retention, reduces the risk of needing surgery. Untreated BPH may contribute in prostate cancer.
Dosage and direction
Take Dutas orally with a glass of water, with or without food. Do not cut, crush, chew or open capsules of this medicine, swallow them whole. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Consult your doctor regarding the proper dosage for you.
Precautions
Before taking Dutas, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are hypersensitive to the drug or to finasteride; or if you have any other food or drug allergies.
